Northfield House, at Knayton near Thirsk, operates with a basic daily structure, but with the flexibility to meet specific individual needs. Our aim is to listen to the service user, their relatives and staff and continually assess the quality of the service we offer.
Any ideas and suggestions that can be used to change or improve the service for the benefit of all are warmly received and acted upon. On site activities within the home include the use of :
- Computer Equipment
- Art and craft work
- Sensory Room
- Quiet Areas
Outdoor grassed areas provide a facility for service users to have a barbeque, play ball games or simply enjoy the outdoors.
A high priority is placed on providing fulfilling experiences for all our service users. Regular social visits and opportunities for learning are provided throughout the year. These include visits to swimming pools, bowling alleys, cinemas, walking, places of interest and any other activities that are interesting and stimulating for the people we support.
Outside the home environment we arrange attendance at day centres, adult education courses, life skills courses and employment training activities.
