We provide residential care (accommodation with personal care) for adults with learning disabilities and associated complex needs including autism, ASD, challenging behaviour, epilepsy, communication difficulties, mental health support needs, and dementia. Our homes offer 24-hour support.

You can contact us by phone on 01246 942944 or email info@action4care.org. We accept referrals from local authorities, the NHS, social workers, care managers, and families. We'll arrange an initial conversation to understand if we can provide the right support.

Absolutely. We welcome and encourage visits to our homes so the individual and their family can see the environment, meet the team, and ask any questions before any decisions are made.

We have homes across West Yorkshire, North Yorkshire, County Durham and the Tees Valley including Bradford, Selby, Thirsk, Northallerton, Stockton-on-Tees, Middlesbrough, Bishop Auckland and Ferryhill. Visit our locations page for full details.

Our homes typically accommodate between 6 and 8 individuals. Each person has their own spacious bedroom, many with ensuite facilities. The homes are modern, well-maintained, and designed to feel warm and homely.

We place a high priority on providing fulfilling experiences. Activities include swimming, bowling, cinema trips, walking, cookery, art and crafts, sensory room activities, day centres, adult education courses, life skills courses, and employment training. Activities are always chosen based on individual preferences.

Yes, all our homes are registered with and inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). We are committed to meeting and exceeding the standards set by the CQC. Several of our homes have achieved Outstanding ratings.

We are enrolled on the Autism Accreditation Programme through the National Autistic Society. Several of our homes have achieved autism accreditation status, and we are actively working towards accreditation across all services.

Requirements vary by role. For Support Worker positions, relevant qualifications like NVQ are desirable but not essential — we value commitment, compassion, and a willingness to undertake further training. A full driving licence is desirable for most roles.
