Testimonials

Our service users and staff are the heart of everything without them we could not be.

We asked for a few words from our staff, families, service users and healthcare professional on how they feel about living, working and being involved with Action for Care.

“My son has been living his best life at Oaklands for several years now. A comfortable and homely place to live, Oaklands provides a warm and caring environment while maintaining sharp professional standards.

Staff and managers at Oaklands maintain honest and open communication with family, sharing concerns and celebrating success.

Staff listen and act on his views and wishes, however they are communicated”

Melinda Flemming - Oaklands Staff

“I started working with Action4Care in 2019 as a Support Worker and instantly fell in love with the service, the individuals we support and the wider team from Support Workers up to the SMT. I worked my way through the roles at Action4Care from Support Worker to Senior Support Worker before becoming a Deputy Manager and now as the Registered Service Manager. I have a Level 5 in Management of Adults Services and I am a Safeguarding Champion for the Middlesbrough Area.

The best part about my role is seeing how the people we support learn and develop their life skills whilst living the best and most meaningful life they can. I also enjoy working with the staff team to develop their skills and experience just as I have to develop their roles, one of the things I believe Action4Care does is invest in the talent we have within the team to promote from within, me being a success story of that very ethos.”
